Local Installation Overview
MagicINFO Server can be installed inside your own network environment and run entirely on premises. Before starting a local deployment, work through the checklist below.
1. System requirements
Verify that the host machine meets the system requirements for the MagicINFO Server version you are deploying — CPU, memory, disk space, operating system, and database version. Requirements are listed in the release documentation for your server version.
2. Installation software
Obtain the MagicINFO Server installation package for your version from your MagicINFO supplier or Samsung representative.
3. Install the database and the server
MagicINFO Server runs against a database (typically PostgreSQL), which is installed together with, or ahead of, the server itself. Follow the step-by-step procedure in Performing a basic installation.
4. Network ports
Devices and browsers reach the server over a set of dedicated communication ports. Make sure your firewall allows these ports between the server, the displays, and the workstations that will use the web interface before rolling out devices.
5. Trial license
To evaluate the installation before buying, activate a trial license — see Activating a free trial license. Trial licenses are available for on-premises installations.
6. Full license
Purchase a license through your MagicINFO supplier or Samsung representative, then activate it as described in Activating a license key.
