Update Display Firmware and Player Software

Using MagicINFO Server, software updates can be published to the connected device at a desired time. Click icon(Device) > Software Update > Register & Publish.

In practice
  • After a firmware update the display's Client Program Version can gain the suffix ;FWVerUpdated. Such a display keeps checking in, accepts commands and shows a successful publish, yet downloads nothing until it gets a full power cycle. No server setting fixes it.
  • When one display in a group of identical screens will not download, compare its firmware and client versions with a working neighbour before you change anything on the server.
  • If a screen must come back quickly after an update, power-cycle it on site. Remote reboots over slow or 4G links have left screens offline for 20 to 35 minutes.
