Settings: Account and Server Configuration
The Setting menu is where users manage their own account information and where administrators view or modify MagicINFO Server configuration. Every user can edit their profile and trusted devices here; server-wide settings are reserved for administrator roles.
This chapter applies to on-premises MagicINFO Server installations. The content of this page is not relevant to MagicINFO Cloud.
MagicINFO Server administrators (general administrator and organization administrators) can assign a role to each user, and available functions depend on that role. For details on user roles, see Managing Users. The topics in this section assume general administrator privileges.

What's in this section
- My Account: Edit Profile and Trusted Devices — Update your own MagicINFO Server profile, manage the trusted devices used at sign-in, or close your account, all from My Account in Settings.
- Server Settings: E-mail (SMTP), LDAP, Passwords — Configure MagicINFO Server: general options, password policy, logs, SMTP e-mail and alarm mail, LDAP, statistics retention and automatic time zone.

- Server System Information: OS, Storage, Java — Check the computer MagicINFO Server runs on: operating system, storage size, web application server and Java (JVM) details, from System Info.
- Device Summary: Device Models and Counts — See how many devices of each model are registered in MagicINFO Server, with the other summary data per model, and export the list to Excel or PDF.
- External Servers: DataLink, Edge and Remote Control — Connect helper servers to MagicINFO Server: add DataLink servers for live data, manage Edge Servers that offload publishing, register remote control.
- Add a Remote Control Server — Register, edit or delete a Remote Control Server under External Server Management so you can open remote control sessions to registered devices.
