Approve New Devices from the Unapproved List
In practice
- MagicINFO identifies each display by its MAC address. Some models send their serial number late, minutes or even hours after first contact, and serials copied from labels often mix up O/0 and I/1, so match displays by MAC. See Finding a Device's MAC Address.
- A display that returns to a server that still holds its record skips Unapproved and goes back to its old group. If it is missing here, search Device > All for its MAC.
- An unapproved display cannot take commands, so approve it before you try to change its settings or server address.

Check and enable the devices that are connected to MagicINFO Server but not authorized.
Click (Device) on the main menu bar.
- Click Device > Unapproved. Unapproved devices appear.
- Select a device and then click Approve. A Device Approvalwindow appears when a device can be authorized.
- Specify the name, group, location and expiration date. Click OK. The device has been authorized.
- To keep a unauthorized device, select the device and click Delete.
- To authorize multiple devices of the same model, select devices and click Approve. If you enter representative names of devices, the device names are saved in the "representative name_(sequence number)" format.
- To add devices in a new group, first create a group. For details related to the group, see Managing devices by group.
